Pole Dancing

Alexa is currently collaborating with the group formerly known as People On a Stage. We are now spread into three different states and are using the internet to connect us in our current endeavors. I’m Fucking Scared or IFS is a collaboration of fear in which we challenge each other and ourselves. The group members post weekly.

We did it! People On a Stage has made our international debut! Thank everyone for the support in getting us to this amazing opportunity. It has been a wonderful few days of panels, performances, and connections for the ensemble.

We are raising money for our quickly approaching trip to Stanford, California, where we are presenting our work, “Collecting Ourselves: Bone Stacking,” at the Performance Studies International conference at the end of June. Do you love fancy pants? OR do you love sliding around the floor in your socks? OR do you love dance parties? OR are you celebrating the end of the school year? OR do you love People On a Stage? Come out and cut loose with us. Enjoy drinks, snacks, and a whole lot of dancing (in your fancy pants and/or your socks)! No entry fee. Snacks and drinks are by donation.

Collecting Ourselves was accepted to be performed at PSi19: Now Then: Performance and Temporality! The Performance Studies International Conference 19, will be at held Stanford University from June 26-30, 2013.

Performing with Alexa will be Lydia Feuerhelm, Jenny Garnett, Emily Rose, Courtney St.Clair, Michael Chad St.John, and Don Widmer.

Alexa is currently exploring the collective body of the ensemble through her MFA Thesis project Collecting Ourselves. A work-in-progress showing will be held at Solid Ground Studio in Chicago, Illinois, on Friday, March 8, 2013. Thesis show performances will be on April 26 and 27, 2013. More information to come.
